Ross Lynch is set to return to Australia with his latest project, The Driver Era, playing sold out shows in Sydney and Melbourne with brother Rocky this week.

The child star, 26, recently dominated headlines when a series of photos of him performing alongside his brother shirtless went viral on TikTok.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Tuesday, the American singer laughed off the craze and admitted: ‘It’s kind of funny. I just kind of chuckled at it.’

‘The shirtless trending on TikTok thing is like … I just think it’s kind of funny, but as far as our shows, they are so fun because we’re trying to have the most fun that we can possibly have on stage,’ he explained.

Ross continued: ‘Honestly the funny thing is, it’s not like an every night thing. Like I just do it when it feels right. Like it has to be of the moment.

‘After that trending TikTok video, the crowd started chanting, “take it off, take it off” almost every night, but that’s not really the idea.

‘The idea is like if it’s a really hot show, everyone’s having a good time. I try to be thoughtless.

‘I think that translates between us and our, and our fans,’ he continued.

‘Like everyone knows, like tonight is a celebration. We’re here to celebrate life, we’re here to have a good time – let’s fricking boogie.’

Elsewhere during the interview Ross said that he rarely goes back to listen to music he has released and is always thinking about what’s next.

‘You know, very rarely I’ll go back and listen to songs that we’ve released. Sometimes you just get like a random urge to be like, “I’m gonna listen to this”, and all that stuff, but for the most part once we release music, we’re almost always on to what’s next.’

In 2017 he branched into film, starring in the biopic My Friend Dahmer, where he played a teenage Jeffrey Dahmer before landing the role of Harvey Kinkle on the Netflix television series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina in 2018.

‘I’m very much so looking forward to returning to Australia. I wish we had more time down there. I always love Australia, such a wonderful place,’ he said.

‘I’d love to, you know, experience more than just like playing a show and flying for the next gig. I’d love to make some memories down there.’

Ross will kick off his Australian tour in Brisbane on Friday, before playing sold out shows in Sydney and Melbourne over the weekend.
