Baby seriously injured at Mackay in suspected domestic violence attack and rushed to Moranbah hospital

A seven-week old baby has been hospitalised in Central Queensland following an alleged domestic violence attack.

Queensland Police opened in investigation into the incident after the baby was taken to a hospital in Moranbah, 190km southwest of Mackay, with significant injuries on Tuesday.

Officers arrested a 23-year-old Moranbah man on Wednesday and charged him with one count of grievous bodily harm, domestic violence offence.

He is expected to appear at Moranbah Magistrates Court today, Thursday, September 7.
