The man, from the Brisbane suburb of Everton Park, is due in Caboolture Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Detective Inspector Stephen Windsor addressed the media on Wednesday afternoon, saying it appears a weapon was used.

‘The victim has sustained injuries to his neck. The scientific [unit] is still processing the scene and body, but there are some wounds,’ Detective Inspector Windsor said.

He says their investigation so far hasn’t indicated anyone else was at the property, or that the men are known to each other, with no signs of forced entry.

‘There appears to have been some contact in the early hours of this morning, but it doesn’t appear to be a home invasion,’ Mr Windsor said.

He indicated the 23-year-old man was found with ‘blood on him’ but didn’t appear to have been injured himself.

‘It was confronting for initial police … there was a substantial amount of what appeared to be blood at the premises … it was quite a graphic encounter for first responders,’ Mr Windsor said.

Neighbours reported a man knocking on doors in the early hours of Wednesday morning, but police couldn’t confirm if that was the same man who has been charged.

Anyone with further information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
