Ex-college football star Robert Shiver says he STILL hasn’t told children about wife’s arrest for ‘plotting with her Bahamian lover and hitman to have him killed’

Ex-college football star Robert Shiver has still not told his children that wife Lyndsay was arrested after she was accused of plotting to kill him with her Bahamian lover and an alleged hitman.

Lyndsay Shiver, 36, was arrested Friday on suspicion of plotting to kill her husband with boyfriend Terrence Bethel, 28, and Farron Newbold, 29.

The trio had been arrested on the island of Guana after police discovered the plot, before being flown to the capital Nassau, as the nation only has one prison.

It has since been confirmed that Robert Shiver hasn’t yet told his three sons under the age of 12 about the entire ordeal, according to the New York Post.

Shiver allegedly plans to tell the children what their mother is accused of ‘in the next day or so’ and has held off on telling them out of concern for their well-being.

A spokesperson for Shiver declined a DailyMail.com request for comment.

Shiver’s alleged plot to murder her husband came after the two were locked in a bitter custody battle, despite the mom sharing picture-perfect images of her family on social media.

The couple was sparring over custody of their three young sons, as well as the future of their multi-million-dollar estate, according to Fox News.

Part of the ongoing dispute was over ownership of the family’s $2.5million, 8,000 square foot, home in Thomasville, where the pair lived. The family also owns a home in the Bahamas, which is where Lindsay is accused of beginning her affair with Bethel.

When Robert found out about her affair, he filed for divorce.

Court documents reveal the couple was due in Thomas County Superior Court on July 20, where they had filed counterclaims against each other. While he accused her of ‘adulterous conduct’, Lyndsay had countered with accusations of ‘physical and mental cruel treatment’.

But four days before they were set to face off before a judge, Shiver’s alleged plot was uncovered, where she and Bether were planning to enlist the help of alleged hitman Newbold, police said.

The scheme was found out by cops while they were investigating reports of a break-in at Grabber’s Bar and Grill, where they came across allegedly incriminating WhatsApp messages over the plan.

After the three were hauled before a judge Friday, Shiver’s defense team filed an urgent bail application to have the mother-of-three released the same day, which was denied because it was objected to by prosecutors and she was not sick, juvenile, elderly or pregnant, reported Bahamas Court News.

When they appeared in court following their arrest, the three were not required to enter a plea. The group are next scheduled to appear in court on October 5, when they will be served with an indictment, cops said.

Robert and Lindsay met at a fitness class at Auburn University in August 2007, according to her Instagram account.

‘So thankful for that fitness class 13 years ago that brought us together and all of the love, laughter, and life we have created ever since! I love you babe. Cheers to many more,’ she wrote in a 2020 post alongside a collection of photos, including from their wedding day.

The pair have three young sons, with the youngest just four years old. Robert proudly shares his children on his Instagram page, with his profile reading: ‘Dad to the trio!’

Robert played for Auburn University between 2006 and 2008 as a long snapper. He signed with the NFL team Atlanta Falcons as a free agent following his college career.

But he was let go in the first roster cuts ahead of the 2009 season.
