Daughter of man who died in fall from shipping container in Outer Harbor, Adelaide breaks silence

The daughter of a man who died after falling from a shipping container early Sunday morning has revealed her family’s despair at losing ‘the best man in all our lives’.

Victorian man Troy Kellett, 43, died after falling several metres from the container at a premises on Coghlan Road, Outer Harbor, Adelaide at around 12.30am on Sunday.

‘R.I.P dad. My heart’s broken,’ his daughter Demi Deksnis wrote to social media.

‘I keep thinking you’re going to pull up in the driveway any minute now.’

Ms Deksnis said Mr Kellett was a great father to her and her siblings.

‘Thank you for always being the best man in all our lives I couldn’t have asked for a better dad,’ she wrote.

‘You deserved the world and more and I’m so sorry it all got taken away from you so soon.

‘I will look after the boys for you and make sure little man knows he had the best dad. Love you always.’

Mr Kellett’s death is not being treated as suspicious by police, who administered first aid at the scene before he was pronounced dead.

It’s understood he was not an employee at the site.

Two men were arrested in the vicinity and charged with firearms offences, but the police said this was ‘unrelated’ to Mr Kellett’s death.

The men were charged with possessing an unregistered firearm and possessing a firearm without a license.

They were refused police bail to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
