Six people are dead after plane crashes into California field and bursts into flames

Six people have died after a private plane crashed into a California field and burst into flames.

The flight had left Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas and crashed near French Valley Airport in Murrieta, California, around 4:15 am Saturday, according to KTLA.

The plane burst into flames when it crashed and video from the scene showed the charge fuselage.

The flight was a Cessna C550 business jet.

There was no word on what caused the crashed or the names of the people who died.

‘Deputies located an aircraft fully engulfed,’ the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department stated about eh crash. ‘Six occupants from the plane were located and pronounced deceased at the scene.’ 

It took firefighters about an hour to extinguish the brush fire that ignited after the plane crashed, officials said. 

The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the incident.

On July 4, a plane crashed at the same airport shortly after takeoff. In that incident, one person died and three people were injured. 

Footage showed the plane upside down after it hit a building near the French Valley Airport. Federal agencies continue to investigate that wreck.
