Two bodies have been found in burning cars on opposite sides of Sydney.

Firefighters discovered skeletal remains in a torched Toyota RAV4 at Waterfall Flat Carpark in the Royal National Park just after midnight on Tuesday.

The second body was discovered on Webb Street in North Parramatta in Sydney’s northwest at about 2:15am following reports a hatchback was on fire.

A police investigation has been launched into both discoveries with forensics to examine the remains to determine whether they are human.
