Sydney M4 crash: Four injured and major traffic delays

A horror crash on a busy freeway has left several injured and sparked traffic chaos.

The three-car crash occurred on Reservoir Rd at the M4 off-ramp westbound at Prospect in Sydney‘s west around 7.10am Thursday.

The incident sparked an major emergency response from police, ambulance and NSW Fire and Rescue.

It’s understood multiple people have been injured and have been rushed to hospital.

The extent of injuries is currently unknown. 

The crash has caused significant traffic delays on the M4.

Reservoir Road was closed in both directions for more than an hour.

‘Follow the directions of emergency services and traffic crews. Traffic in the area is very heavy,’ Live Traffic Sydney alert stated. 

‘Westbound off-ramp from M4 to Reservoir Rd is closed, use Prospect Hwy instead. Citybound off-ramp is closed with the diversion onto Great Western Hwy. Southbound traffic on Reservoir Rd diverting onto M4 & northbound onto Peter Brock Dr.’

Blacktown highway patrol officers have commenced a police investigation into the circumstances of the crash, a spokesman told Daily Mail Australia.

The crash scene has since been cleared with all lanes of Reservoir Road now reopened.

Traffic in the area is very heavy.
