A four-month-old migrant girl has tragically died inside a Manhattan hotel after being discovered unconscious by her family, police said.
Officers rushed to the scene at the Stewart Hotel in Midtown after responding to calls of an infant not breathing at around 7:30am Thursday.
The hotel is one of numerous hotels used by city officials to house migrants as the US continues to grapple with a large influx of people pouring into the nation.
The child arrived in the US from Ecuador in January with her family.

The girl’s cause of death has not been revealed, however police say they do not suspect foul play and say there were no obvious signs of trauma.
An autopsy is set to be conducted Friday.
The death comes as New York officials struggle to handle a large influx of migrants bussed up to the East Coast metro in recent weeks.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams warned in a radio appearance that up to 550 migrants are arriving in the city every day, costing the officials billions.
To ease pressure on the city’s resources, Adams has opted to send buses of migrants to upstate hotels, leading one establishment to cancel the wedding bookings for an engaged couple just weeks before their nuptials.
