The bizarre sight of a cow stuck on a petrol station rooftop has left locals baffled and sparked an unusual rescue operation.
The fibre-glass cow, understood to have been stolen from a nearby primary school weeks earlier, was spotted perched above the Vibe petrol station on the South Western Highway in Western Australia on Sunday.
Police and SES were called to the scene but did not have the tools to bring the bovine to ground – nor do they know how it got up there in the first place.
A callout was made for anyone who might be able to move the plastic animal, as a small and confused crowd gathered at the petrol station.
One resident offered to use their cherry picker to bring it down.

The operation involved one man driving the picker while another tied the cow to the railed platform.
The cow was then lifted from the roof and slowly lowered to the ground.
Known as ‘Moosli’, the cow had come from a local primary school and went missing weeks prior.
One onlooker claimed it was stolen from the school by thieves and placed on the roof.
‘The cow was taken from the (school) garden by some people who obviously don’t care about our children,’ they told The West Australian.
‘And now she is down which is lovely, and she is back, which is great. She can go back to the school and be repainted.’
