T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach spotted running New York Half Marathon, preparing with ‘sex workouts’

T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach were spotted bracing the cold to run the New York City Half Marathon this morning – their first time doing so as a couple.

In photos obtained exclusively by the DailyMail.com, Holmes, 45, and Robach, 50, were seen pounding in the pavement in both Times Square and Central Park during the 13.1mile event – shortly after being photographed near its starting line in Brooklyn.

Their second half marathon in two years, the run serves as the ex-anchors’ first since news of their affair lost them their jobs last year – and comes on the heels or reports that they had planned to run whilst incognito.

Their affair, exposed by DailyMail.com in November, cost both their marriages and contracts at ABC, with each ending their tenure at GMA3 with severance pay-outs in January.  The couple has since struggled to keep a low profile, being snapped multiple times since a February trip to Mexico where they packed on the PDA.

Since the trip, the pair have reportedly been preparing for the event held in Manhattan and Brooklyn by keeping up their fitness with ‘intimate’ sex workouts that insiders revealed to DailyMail.com earlier have whipped them into the ‘best shape of their lives’.

Snappers deployed by DailyMail.com across the East River to Prospect shortly before sunrise confirmed suspicions the couple were set to run the relatively under-the-radar event, which, pending any stragglers, will be finished come noon.

Prior to crossing the finish line, the pair looked dressed for the occasion – decked out in hats, gloves, and form-fitting athletic gear as temperatures hovered just below freezing for the somewhat little-known event – which, despite attracting roughly 25,000 runners, is often upstaged by the city’s full marathon.

Notable names rumored to being joining the couple include retired Giants running back Tiki Barber, and reality TV stars Andi Dorfman and Peter Weber.

They set off from Brooklyn’s Prospect Park at 7am sharp, before taking off across the East River via the Manhattan Bridge into Manhattan, before racing up along the river into the city’s Lower East Side.

It was after this stage that Robach – an avid runner who previously ran such events with now ex-husband Andrew Shue – and Holmes were first photographed running the race, peeling the pavement in Midtown near the UN.

Then only a few miles from finishing, the new couple would then make their way crosstown to Times Square – where they were again snapped – before hitting a right toward Central Park.

Crossing the finish line near West 72nd street not long after, the couple kept pace with one another for the race’s entirety, finishing with hundreds of other contestants.

It was not immediately clear when the couple crossed, though photos taken of the couple running along the park’s oval indicate they finished sometime around 10am, for a respectable time of roughly three hours.

Shortly before, handicapped contestants riding hand cycles – part of a heat that took off before other runners – were seen crossing the line while raising American Flags and fists in celebration.

Marathon runner Jacob Kiplimo of Uganda – the winner of the event – followed close behind, breaking the tape with a time of 1:01:31.

Like its more famous, full counterpart, the event – whose full name is the United Airlines NYC half marathon – is held once a year, and comes as an inconvenience to Sunday drivers as one of the only occasions that serves to shut down Times Square.

That said, the run is far from a show-stopping event and is relatively unknown to most New Yorkers, garnering far less coverage than the city’s famed five-borough event – and attracting less than half as many runners.

It is this pseudo-obscurity that may have played part in Robach and Holmes’ decision to show up to the first wave of three separate groups of runners, whom were preceded by pro wheelchair and handcycle athletes.

‘T.J. and Amy have gone full circle,’ said one source of how the couple planned to run the event, feeling empowered now that news of their secret trysts are now well-known.

‘Their relationship blossomed into more than friendship when they were training for the half marathon last year,’ the insider explained.

‘And now, a year later, they are committed lovers set to prove their mettle in the race this weekend.’

A friend of the couple added: ‘They are in the best shape of their lives, and one reason is their very active sex life.’

They asked: ‘Are they into the Kama Sutra? I can’t say. But besides their intense training their private intimate workouts give them that extra added stamina.’

The pair previously ran the NYC Marathon together in November – just a few weeks before DailyMail.com revealed the broadcast journalists were having an affair.

Now a full-blown couple, both stars are undergoing high-profile splits with their respective partners, but are still no strangers to making appearances together.

They were last seen out on Friday looking carefree as news of Rorbach’s divorce to ex Andrew Shue being settled after 12 years of marriage was beginning to surface.

Holmes, meanwhile, is in the midst of his second divorce to wife Marilee Fiebig – more than ten years removed from a pricey split from first wife Amy Ferson that saw a judge rule that the exes were ‘not to harass’ each other.

The newscaster would go on to marry Fiebig, a lawyer, with the pair staying wed for the next 13 years, until it was revealed he was had secretly been seeing his fellow anchor for months late last year.

Robach and Shue’s marriage, meanwhile, fell apart last August shortly after the actor, 56, learned of his wife’s affair with her co-star and moved out of their West Village apartment.

Despite their separation and the GMA lovers publicly carrying on with their romance, details of the divorce have managed to stay under wraps after Robach and Shue opted to work out a settlement outside of court.

The exes, however, would have had to arrange a custody agreement for Maltipoo, Brody, who had been part of Robach and Shue’s blended family since 2014.

But the two seemed to worked out a joint custody deal early on in their separation, as they were seen handing over the pup in an awkward meet-up in January, DailyMail.com reported at the time.

On Thursday, Shue was spotted picking up the dog once again, on the heels of their divorce agreement, this time from his estranged wife’s daughter outside Robach’s Manhattan home.

The father-of-three appeared to be in good spirits and chatted briefly with his one-time stepdaughter, who later offered him a consoling hug before they both went their separate ways.

Robach, meanwhile, was seen beaming with joy on Friday as she stepped out with lover T.J. Holmes in New York City.
