Fleur East has said that Strictly Come Dancing has been a ‘blessing’ for her marriage as the sexy dances and racy outfits have reignited the flame.
The singer-songwriter, 35, achieved perfect scores in the legendary Blackpool ballroom and has made it through another week of this year’s Strictly.
But instead of feeling the effects of the dance show’s curse on her relationship with husband Marcel Badiane-Robin, who she has been with for 12 years, she has insisted that the seductive performances have done wonders for the long-term pair.
‘A blessing’: Fleur East has said that Strictly Come Dancing has been a ‘blessing’ for her marriage as the sexy dances and racy outfits have reignited the flame
Speaking on the Graham Norton Show, Fleur expressed her pride on getting to the top of last week’s leader board.
She and professional dance partner Vito Coppola scored the first 40 of the series with their couple’s choice dance to a Destiny’s Child Megamix.
‘It is the most iconic week of the show and to get there and score so well was incredible, especially as it has been rough being in the dance off twice and having lots of harsh criticism,’ she told chat show host Graham.
And on the topic of the Strictly curse, she shut down any possibility of it affecting her marriage.

‘The show’s been a blessing for my marriage, it’s been great,’ she said.
‘We’ve been together for 12 years and how often in your marriage do you dress up and look different every week, and get to do all these sexy dances in front of your husband?
‘After the Argentine tango it was like we got married again! It was wonderful.’
Many celebrities in long term relationships and marriages have fallen victim to the dreaded Strictly curse.
Lovers: Fleur told Graham Norton: ‘We’ve been together for 12 years and how often in your marriage do you dress up and look different every week, and get to do all these sexy dances in front of your husband?’
In August, Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty and his girlfriend Eirianedd Munro became the latest couple to split after his 2021 stint on the show.
Stars spend hours training with their professional partners before taking to the stage for steamy and intimate performances – and on many occasions this has left loved ones kicked to the curb.
Countdown’s math whiz Rachel Riley’s relationship with her pro partner Pasha Kovalev ultimately ended her marriage to her husband of just one year.
Stacey Dooley’s boyfriend of five years Sam Tucknott, 30, revealed she had left him – and in an interview, he called her dance partner, three-times married Kevin Clifton, 36, a slippery snake.
No curse around here: The singer-songwriter says ‘that is was like she and Marcel ‘got married again’ after performing the Argentine tango
She was on the Friday night show alongside Daniel Craig, Clive Myrie, Sir Ian McKellen and John Bishop.
Performing live in the studio this week was Charlie Puth, who sang his new single Loser before joining Graham for a chat.
Earlier this week, Fleur was twenty minutes late to her own early morning breakfast show at Hits Radio as she continues to struggle with her gruelling ’15-hour work day’.
The Strictly Come Dancing star was revealed to be ‘missing in action’ by co-hosts James Barr and Matt Haslam as they came on air at 6am.
The singer has been training for the BBC dance competition and slept through her alarm after rehearsing with partner Vito Coppola until gone 10pm the night before.
Star-studded: Daniel Craig also appeared on The Graham Norton Show this week, where he hilariously admitted he ‘flatly ignored’ directions to speak with a southern accent in his new movie Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery
James and Matt reassured listeners: ‘She’s going to be here soon. She’s doing 15-hour days at the moment so we do need to cut her some slack!’
When Fleur did finally make it on air she admitted: ‘I slept a little too well last night guys – I was dancing until past 10pm which explains the bags under my eyes. Bags for life!’
The pair hope to impress judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas with their ‘Fleurito’, a sensual rhumba to the Sugababes Too Lost In You, this week.
