Gillian Anderson looked effortlessly chic as she attended a special screening and Q&A for The Pale Blue Eye at London’s Ham Yard Hotel on Thursday.

The actress, 54, who plays Julia Marquis in the horror film, showed off her elegant style in a black frill midi dress.

She boosted her height in a pair o black strappy heels as she joined her co-stars Christian Bale and Lucy Boynton at the event.

Gillian kept the look simple by accessorising with dainty gold bracelets, rings and drop earrings. 

She opted for a soft glam makeup look with a swipe of nude lipstick while her golden tresses framed her face. 

Also in attendance was the film’s central star Christian, who cut a casual figure in a navy blue ensemble.

Lucy looked effortlessly chic in a sheer dark blue dress with a frilled lace effect and a vintage-inspired leather neckline.

The Pale Blue Eye will follow Christian’s world weary detective as he’s hired to investigate a murder of a West Pont cadet, enlisting the help of famous fiction writer Edgar Allan Poe. 

Christian’s upcoming film see’s him lead an all-star cast as Gillian Anderson, Robert Duvall and Timothy Spall all feature. 

The new horror film will be released in selected theatres on December 23, before releasing exclusively on Netflix the following month. 

The Pale Blue Eye is the latest in a long line of films to be financed and released by the streaming service as the much anticipated Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will hit theatres later in November before streaming in December.

The upcoming film will be the third collaboration between Christian and director Scott Cooper.

Christian and Scott first collaborated in Out of the Furnace (2013) before then working together for a second time as Christian starred alongside Rosamund Pike and Wes Studi in the western Hostiles (2017).

The release of The Pale Blue Eye arrives just weeks after Christian’s previous film Amsterdam bombed at the box office.

David O. Russell’s star-studded film featuring Margot Robbie and Rami Malek grossed just $28 million at the worldwide box office off of a budget of $80 million.

Despite the major star power, audiences failed to come out in droves opening week, with a paltry per-screen average in the United States of $2,163, for one of the worst debuts of Russell’s directorial career.

Lucy is also set to play Marie Antoinette in Chevalier, which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last month and is slated for theatrical release on April 7, 2023. 

The actress is also coming off a pair of mini-series; The Ipcress File and Why Didn’t They Ask Evans?
