The Block auctions: Jenny and Dylan update fans on the sale of their house

The Block’s Jenny Heath and Dylan Adams have given fans an update on their house after it was passed in at auction over the weekend.

The couple reassured fans in an Instagram post on Thursday they were doing fine despite Sunday’s disappointing and unexpected result.

‘We just want to say, thank you all so much for the amazing support and love we have been receiving,’ they wrote.

‘We would love to reply to you all. Please know how grateful we are. The Block was a great opportunity for us, even though it wasn’t the outcome we hoped for.

‘Our beautiful Block home is still on the market. Fingers crossed it gets snapped up soon.’

The two homes passed in at auction are expected to fetch well above their reserves when they eventually find buyers via private sale.

The Block auctioneer Damien Cooley said on Monday that Dylan and Jenny can expect a sale somewhere in the range of $4.3million to $4.8million.

‘They will go into negotiations now, and I’m assuming, most likely, will have an asking price of a number that’s well above the publicised reserve,’ he told Fitzy and Wippa.

As Jenny and Dylan failed to sell their home, Ankur Dogra and Sharon Johal were dealt similar cards over at House 3.

Both couples continued to negotiate with their highest bidders after the end of the auction, but as of 9pm on Sunday neither had sold their home.

It marked the first time a Block property had failed to sell at auction since season four in 2011 when two homes, Josh and Jenna’s and Rod and Tania’s, were passed in.

On the other end of the scale, Omar Slaimankhel and Oz Abu Malik broke records with the biggest sale in Block history after offloading their reno for $5,666,666.

‘It was a bittersweet day,’ said host Scott Cam.

‘We had one incredible high and some crushing lows for our Blockheads, who all worked the hardest I’ve ever seen to deliver these houses.’
