WhatsApp recently rolled out the ability to share HD-quality videos and photos on the app. Now an online report reveals that the Meta-owned platform has started rolling out a feature to quickly send original quality photos and videos.
As reported by WABteaInfo, WhatsApp is rolling out the ability to quickly send original quality videos and photos for the Android beta testers. In order to access the feature users need to install the update version 2.23.19.3 from the Google Play Store.
How the feature works
WABetaInfo also shared a screenshot of the feature. As per the screenshot, a new entry point is available within the documents picker. With this shortcut, WhatsApp is making it easier for users to select photos and videos from their app gallery. After selecting photos and videos from this shortcut, they will be shared as documents to keep their quality and HEIC metadata. It’s worth noting that it was already possible to share photos and videos as documents to preserve media quality in the previous updates, but the new entry point simplifies this process by presenting the media picker, ensuring that users can quickly share media in their original quality even better than before.
