Tinder will launch premium membership plan, new AI features and more

Match Group, the parent company of dating app Tinder, has revealed that a premium membership plan is coming soon. In a letter to its shareholders announcing quarterly results, the company said that it “is on track to launch its high-end membership experience in early fall.”

What can Tinder users expect?
For starters, they can expect to pay more. And then get some additional features. “We expect initial pricing to be substantially higher than Tinder’s current offerings given the significant additional benefits that members will receive and its limited availability,” the company said. It’s not clear as of now in which markets will the membership plan roll out nor do we know what additional features users will get.

More changes coming to Tinder
According to the company, Gen Z is approaching dating differently than Millennials. “They seek inclusivity as well as greater authenticity and more dimensionality,” the company noted. With this in mind, Tinder said that it wants the app experience to be in line with what the younger generation expects. “Specifically, Tinder is seeking to make it easier to create and consume content with features such as prompts, quizzes, and conversation starters that enable deeper self-expression throughout the dating journey,” the company said.

Furthermore, not to miss out on the AI bandwagon, Tinder also plans to leverage artificial intelligence capabilities “to surface the right content to the right people to help improve relevancy and, ultimately, user outcomes.”

As per the company, it has several teams working on implementing latest AI tech across its apps. “These teams have been able to rapidly

develop new features, with a number of initial features expected to launch over the next two quarters, the company revealed. These include helping users select their optimal photos and leveraging AI to highlight why a given profile may be a good match. “We’re also working on larger AI projects that more holistically improve the end-to-end dating experience,” added the company.
