Why Motorola sees India as key to success in the global phone market

India is one of the most important markets for Motorola. Reason being: The company sees the country as its key to success in the global smartphone market. A senior official of the company told news agency PTI that Motorola sees India as a key market to meet its target of being among top three brands in the segment globally in the next three years. Motorola global president Sergio Buniac said that if one can succeed in India then it can be replicated anywhere in the world.

“Our ambition is to be among the top three globally in the next three years. We cannot do that without succeeding in India. We have a long-term commitment to the India market. We are very heavy online. We are now expanding offline,” Buniac said.

Buniac was speaking on the sidelines of the company’s ultra-premium foldable smartphone Motorola Razr 40 series. With the new Motorola Razr 40 series, the company makes its entry in the country’s premium phone market, which is currently led by Apple.

Motorola Razr 40 series comprises Motorola Razr 40 Ultra and Motorola Razr 40. Of these, Motorola Razr 40 Ultra is priced at Rs 90,000 onwards, while a Motorola Razr 40 at Rs 60,000 onwards. There are offers available on ICICI Bank debit and credit cards on both the smartphones. The new foldable phones will be exclusively available on Amazon.

Motorola Razr 40 Ultra sports a 3.6-inch pOLED display with 144Hz adaptive refresh rate. It is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. On the inside, the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra smartphone gets a 6.9-inch pOLED screen with refresh rate of 165Hz and peak brightness of 1400 nits. It comes with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM + 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

There’s a 12MP main camera sensor with Instant Dual Pixel PDAF and f/1.5 aperture lens with OIS. It comes with a Night Vision mode for video when shooting in low-light environments. There is a secondary 13MP ultrawide + macro vision camera which allows for wide-angle shots that fit 3X more into the frame than a standard lens.

Users can also flip open Razr 40 Ultra and use the 32 MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The Razr 40 Ultra has a 33W TurboPower charger in the box, supports wireless charging on a 3800mAh battery.

The vanilla model comes with a 6.9-inch FHD+ pOLED main display and 1.5-inch OLED outer display. There is also a difference between the camera setup. The vanilla model features a 64 MP main camera with OIS, a 13MP Ultrawide + Macro Vision lens on the rear and a 32 MP camera on the front.
