Microsoft, in collaboration with ID8NXT, has revealed the winners of its Fastest Coder First Hackathon. This event provided developers and software engineers with an opportunity to construct inventive solutions to tackle real-world issues in record time with the help of GitHub Copilot. As an AI-powered programming tool, GitHub Copilot assists developers by expediting coding processes.
All hackathon solutions were created within a five-hour timeframe. This achievement highlights the potential of GitHub Copilot in enabling developers to concentrate on innovation while simultaneously reducing development time. Participants leveraged various programming languages, including Java, JavaScript, Python, and Ruby, across diverse industry sectors.
GitHub Copilot has significantly contributed to expediting innovation by enhancing release velocity, reducing turnaround time for new product development, and augmenting delivery excellence within organisations. With Copilot’s generative AI capabilities responsible for suggesting and generating nearly half (46%) of developers’ code, these professionals are empowered to focus on the broader vision and innovate at an accelerated pace.
Rewards
The five highest-scoring participants will be rewarded with a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh from Microsoft.
Over 21,000 developers from various cities, including Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Gurgaon, Lucknow, Jaipur, Pune, and Indore participated in the hackathon. The event successfully showcased the productivity benefits that can be unlocked by embracing GitHub Copilot.
