Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp has recently started receiving in-chat Messages Reactions for individual and group chats. The feature is similar to what we have seen with Facebook, Messenger and Instagram where users can simply provide a reaction using pre-defined emojis.

So, if you are looking to try the new Message Reactions on WhatsApp, here are the steps you need to follow:

Do note, that the feature is currently rolling out in a phased manner and WhatsApp has already confirmed that the full rollout will take approximately a week. So, in case the feature isn’t available for you, you’ll have to wait a little longer.

Steps to respond using reactions on WhatsApp

Install the latest version of WhatsApp and open it

Navigate to any chat windows or group chat

Now, long-press (tap and hold for a couple of seconds) on any message (works for both sent and received messages)

4.

You’ll see a new popup with a couple of reaction emojis.

5.

Tap on the emoji you want to react with.
