Chinese smartphone maker Vivo is expected to expand its foldable smartphone portfolio with a new device. The Vivo X Fold 2 smartphone is rumoured to launch in China in April. Apart from this, the company is also likely to launch its first-ever flip foldable phone the Vivo X Flip and the Vivo Pad 2 tablet. Vivo is expected to confirm the launch date of these devices in the coming weeks. Vivo may keep the X Fold 2 and the Pad 2 exclusive to its domestic market The Vivo X Fold 2, was also showcased at the 2023 Boao Forum in China. According to a report by GizmoChina, a Chinese vlogger named Flypig has released an unboxing video of the upcoming foldable smartphone on Weibo. The unboxing video has reportedly revealed the design of the Vivo X Fold 2 from all angles.
Vivo X Fold 2 design leaked: What to expect
As per the report, the unboxing video showed the Vivo X Fold 2 with a red-coloured back panel and a dual-tone look. The rear panel of the upcoming smartphone also houses the round camera module, the Zeiss branding and a Vivo logo (which is likely to have a leather finish). The rest of the back panel is expected to have a glossy appeal.
The video has also revealed that X Fold 2’s camera module will house three camera units and a ring LED flash. Meanwhile, the cover display of the smartphone is likely to have a centrally positioned punch-hole and a curved edge.

The volume rocker and the power key are expected to be included on the right spine of the phone. While its upper edge will have a speaker and a microphone. The Vivo X Fold 2’s bottom panel is said to include a speaker, a microphone, a USB-C port and a SIM slot.
Vivo X Fold 2 is also rumoured to have an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner which will be placed on both the front and inside screens. The video also reveals that the upcoming device will also be sleeker than its predecessors — Vivo X Fold and X Fold+.
Vivo X Fold 2: Rumoured specs
The upcoming foldable smartphone is expected to come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. For optics, the Vivo X Fold 2 is rumoured to sport a 50MP Sony IMX866 main sensor which will support OIS and will be powered by the company’s V2 ISP. The smartphone is also likely to pack a 4,800 mAh battery that may support 120W fast charging.
