The Facebook app is loaded with features, however, most of them are aimed at offering better social media experience. For instance, the app’s new interface is aimed at making the app’s user experience better and simpler. Apart from social media focused features, the app also offers the option to check nearby available Wi-Fi networks and also run a speed test to check the current internet speed of the device.
What you’ll need
To use Facebook‘s speed test feature, you’ll need the latest version of Facebook app and also an active Facebook account. Also, make sure that the app is logged in.
Another thing to note here is that the feature is available only on the Android version of the Facebook app.
How to use Facebook app to run speed test
Open Facebook app
First open Facebook app from the app launcher or the home screen and login if it is not logged in already.
Tap on the three horizontal lines at the top right corner
Tapping on the three horizontal lines will open a new drop down menu that allows access to several Facebook features, settings and more.
Tap on Settings & Privacy
From the drop down menu, scroll down and tap on Settings & Privacy option
Tap Wi-Fi & cellular performance
Tap Your speed tab and look for Run speed test option
Here, you’ll find Continue button, tap on it
On the next page, tap on Run speed test button
That’s it, the Facebook app will start measuring the current internet speed on your phone. Once the speed test is complete, it will tell you both Download speed and Upload speed.
