Canva introduces new AI features: All you need to know

At the Canva Create virtual event today, Canva revealed its latest offerings, which consist of a set of AI-powered tools and a new Brand Hub, among other features.

Canva brings AI-powered Assistant
One of the new additions is Assistant, a feature that enables users to search for design elements and swiftly access features. It can also suggest graphics and styles that complement the user’s current design. Furthermore, Assistant facilitates easy access to Canva’s AI-powered design tools, such as Magic Write, which the company introduced as its AI-based copywriting Assistant in December.

Magic Write now available to all, supports 18 languages
Magic Write is now available across all Canva project types, including social media graphics, presentations, flyers, and more. Previously, it was only accessible in Canva Docs. Magic Write can help users write website copy or presentation summaries, suggesting copy based on the project type. Canva also revealed that Magic Write now supports 18 languages.

Canva’s AI-powered tools: Magic Design, Magic Edit, Magic Eraser, and more
The new “Magic Design” tool enables users to upload an image and select a style to obtain a personalised selection of templates that can be customised. Another feature, “Magic Edit,” allows users to add or replace elements in an image by identifying and describing the desired change. Lastly, the “Magic Eraser” tool enables users to clean up unwanted details in images by brushing over the area.

Additionally, Canva launched a presentation generator that automatically creates presentations with pre-filled content and outlines for each slide.

Along with the AI-powered tools, Canva has some more highly-requested features. One of them is “Draw,” which enables users to sketch a basic shape and then transform it into a polished design. Another feature, “Layouts,” suggests layout ideas for a design when users add content to a page, while “Styles” allows users to explore suggested colour palettes and fonts. Additionally, the “Layers” tool enables users to view all elements, including text, shapes, images, and video, in one place.

Brand Hub for collaborative brand work
Canva is launching Brand Hub, a set of tools and features that assists teams in maintaining brand consistency. The hub includes the “Magic Replace” tool, which enables users to promptly update brand assets like logos across their designs on the platform. It also offers tools to create brand templates, folders, and guidelines, while admins can approve workflows within Canva to ensure that designs are reviewed and approved before publication.
