US-based subscription streaming service Netflix offers users the option to download content on different devices to keep watching without an internet connection. However, the company offers its download feature in accordance with the subscription plan users have chosen.

There can be times when you try to download titles and an error message shows up: You have downloads on too many devices. After which, you will be unable to download more titles on your device.

Remove downloaded titles from an existing device
When you are finished watching downloaded shows or movies on a device, you should remove them from the existing device. Here’s how it’s done:
- Open any web browser on your smartphone or computer.
- Go to the official Netflix website: https://www.netflix.com.
- Sign in to your account.
- Tap on your profile and select the Account option.
- Under the Settings tab, tap on Manage Download Devices.
- On the following page, you will see all the download settings for your device according to your Netflix plan.
- Tap on the See downloads option and remove the downloads that are not needed anymore.
- Additionally, you can remove the device from which downloads are no longer required.
- Hit the Back to account button.
As per the company, after all downloaded titles from the device are deleted, its systems see that the device is no longer being used to watch downloaded content, and allow users to download titles on a new device.
Change subscription plan
You can switch to a supported plan if you want to save downloaded titles on more devices. Netflix plans allow users to both stream content and store downloaded titles on up to four devices at the same time.
