Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE

The next tablet lineup from Samsung is expected to be the Galaxy Tab S9 series which will compete with Apple iPad Pro. But, before that, the Korean tech giant is expected to launch a Fan Edition (FE) version of this year’s Galaxy Tab S8 tablet which will challenge the recently released entry-level iPad (10th-gen). The upcoming Android-based tablet will be known as Galaxy Tab S8 FE which is expected to get the same display as its predecessor. Last year’s Galaxy Tab S7 FE was released in June but the upcoming device will not be a yearly follow-up as it is likely to arrive in 2023. The tablet appears to have been in development for some time and now a few more details about the Galaxy Tab S8 FE have been tipped online.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 FE: Expected specifications
According to a report by Sammobile, Samsung might not switch to an AMOLED display for the Tab S FE series. The company is expected to continue using an LCD panel for the Galaxy Tab S8 FE as well.

The report doesn’t share any details about the upcoming tablet’s display resolution, size, and other characteristics but there is a lot of room for improvement from last year’s device. The Galaxy Tab S7 FE has a 60Hz LCD and if Samsung offers a 120Hz refresh rate with the upcoming device, it will be an important upgrade for the tablet series.

Earlier, the Tab S8 FE was spotted online in a Geekbench benchmark entry. The listing revealed that the upcoming tablet series is powered by the MediaTek Kompanio 900T chipset and runs Android 13.

Samsung’s next FE version tablet will also feature a built-in stylus like its predecessor. However, the S-Pen performance, speed and responsiveness in the upcoming device will be much-improved compared to the Tab S7 FE.

The stylus in the Tab S8 FE will be powered by the new Wacom digitiser technology which is also used in this year’s Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Galaxy Tab S8 lineup. As per the report, the upcoming tablet will offer a “great S-Pen experience” with this new technology.
