Collingwood had made no secret of its desire to sign GWS Giants young gun Tim Taranto, who is set to leave the club due to a salary cap squeeze.
However, according to Herald Sun reports, Taranto is set to sign with Richmond on a monster seven-year deal worth over $750,000 per year.
Another Giants star, Jacob Hopper, is widely expected to join Collingwood’s opponents, Geelong.
