His absence would be yet another blow for a Sharks side that have lost five of their last six matches.

They will already be without enforcer Siosifa Talakai, who has accepted a one-week ban for a high shot on Titans hooker Sam Verrills in Coffs Harbour on Friday night.

Daniel Atkinson has been put on standby for Friday night’s clash at PointsBet Stadium.

The Sharks sit fourth on the NRL ladder, but a loss to the Tigers could see them drop to sixth.

Hynes earned a Blues Origin recall for the series opener but has battled form since he was axed for game two.

He won the Dally M Medal in 2022 but endured a disappointing campaign last year.
