Axed former NSW captain James Tedesco has been put on standby for the State of Origin opener on Wednesday, after fullback Dylan Edwards suffered a possible quad injury at training.
Nine’s Danny Weidler broke the news a short time ago with Michael Maguire requesting Tedesco come into camp as questions remain over the NSW No.1’s place in the team.
Edwards pulled up with a tight quad after Saturday’s opposed training session, forcing Maguire to make last minute plans for a replacement if needed.
Maguire spoke to Roosters coach Trent Robinson shortly after the training session, with Tedesco now a chance to miss Sunday’s NRL clash with North Queensland.
The Blues will make a decision on Edwards on Sunday.
