Hundreds of mourners have paid their respects to Cam McCarthy at the former Fremantle Docker and Giant’s funeral today.
Fremantle Cemetery overflowed with loved ones who gathered to remember the 29-year-old, who was known for his unique personality and unconventional spirit.

“He loved hanging out with us and his best mates for an ice-cold beer,” Hannah said.
“He was an athlete, a dancer, a singer even a rapper and all-round performer really,” she added.
“Most of all, he was the light in any room and the world is a whole lot darker and our hearts a whole lot heavier without him.”
McCarthy’s father, Graham, recounted the devastating phone call he received while camping in Coral Bay telling him of his son’s death.
“We couldn’t believe it,” he said.
“Mum and I were just in shock.”
The footy community rallied together on the sombre day, with former Dockers teammates and current captain Alex Pearce attending the funeral alongside Luke Ryan and Joel Hamling.
Support also came from the West Coast Eagles, with star defender and McCarthy’s state under-18 teammate Tom Barrass serving as a pallbearer.
McCarthy played 70 AFL games over the course of his career for GWS and Fremantle.
He died on May 9, with his death deemed not suspicious.
