Morgan Harper had a fine debut for the Eels last weekend, but has told mates he has been left disillusioned by events of the past week.

The former Sea Eagle has been put off by Parra’s quest for Zac Lomax and its plan to play him in the centres.

The Dragons shut down any potential move for Lomax – at least for the time being – on Monday, but the damage is already done in Harper’s head after a week of headlines.

The speedy centre feels unappreciated after just one game in the blue and gold and will need some hugs in coming days to feel the love from his new club again.

DRAGONS FORWARD IN DEMAND

Former Queensland State of Origin forward Francis Molo could be the Warriors’ answer to their search for a big man to replace Cronulla-bound enforcer Addin Fonua-Blake in 2025.

The Dragons prop is one of the few experienced middle forwards off contract for next season and has yet to sign a new deal with the Big Red V.

Born in Auckland, Molo moved to Australia with his family when he was a baby and appears one of the Warriors’ few options to replace their main man, AFB.

At least three rival clubs are keen on Molo, a powerhouse 29-year-old who has played two Origins for the Maroons as well as for the Cook Islands and Samoa at international level.

“There is plenty of interest but we are in no hurry,” Molo’s new manager Wade Rushton of Rush Sports told Wide World of Sports.

“The Dragons want to keep him but there is also outside interest – we will let him get a few games under his belt and then see where things stand.”

FORMER ORIGIN STAR MAKES COMEBACK

Former Souths premiership winner, Queensland Origin and England Test forward Chris McQueen announced he was hanging up the boots recently after playing the past four seasons with Huddersfield in Super League.

But the 36-year-old’s retirement hasn’t lasted long.

McQueen, a tough second-rower who was a member of the Rabbitohs’ grand final winning team 10 years ago, has decided to make a comeback with Brisbane Tigers in the QRL’s Hostplus Cup competition.

A veteran of over 200 games for the Rabbitohs, Tigers, Titans and Giants, McQueen is a fine leader and will be a great influence on the young up-and-comers at Brisbane Easts.

TIGERS YOUNG GUN TURNING HEADS

The Tigers have some great young players coming through the ranks, and officials are especially excited with Western Suburbs Magpies Harold Matthews Cup centre Heamasi Makasini.

The Magpies are flying in the under-18 competition, no player moreso than Makasini, who has bagged five tries and booted 17 goals in the opening three rounds – that’s 54 points in three games.

But Wests already face stiff competition for the youngster. He also plays rugby union, and represented Australia in their under-16s side last year.
