Wrestling has been rocked by two sudden deaths in the space of 24 hours.

Japanese star Ozawa turned to professional wrestling in 1971 and competed against the likes of Andre The Giant and Hulk Hogan.

He retired from competition in 1987 and later became a singer, releasing songs in Japan.

The news of Ozawa’s death came less than 24 hours after the wrestling world was stunned by the sudden death of 26-year-old Kurtis Chapman.

The death of the young star known as “Mad Kurt” has been described as a “massive loss to the UK wrestling scene”.

“We, at Revolution Pro Wrestling are absolutely heartbroken to report the loss of our dear friend Kurtis Chapman,” his promotion company announced.

“We watched Kurtis grow from a child to a young man who loved professional wrestling and continued to excel in all aspects of his life.

“One of the most gifted technical wrestlers, charismatic characters and magnetic personalities. He will never be forgotten.”
