Kangaroos coach Mal Meninga has answered the biggest question hanging over the national team: is it time to move on from James Tedesco?
In his squad for the post-season Pacific Championships, Meninga made an even more emphatic statement than expected, not only sticking with Tedesco in year one of a new World Cup cycle, but leaving out all of the realistic contenders to replace him.
Dally M Medallist Kalyn Ponga tops the list of star fullbacks who were healthy and available to miss the squad, but it’s a list that also includes grand final players Reece Walsh and Dylan Edwards.
