Reduced playing time under new boss Ange Postecoglou has led one of Tottenham’s veterans to hold a crisis meeting with the club’s chairman.
Eric Dier has reportedly held talks with club chairman Daniel Levy having had his playing time drastically reduced under the new boss.
Dier has not featured in any of Postecoglou’s matchday squads since he took over after playing 33 Premier League games for Tottenham last season. Adding to the uncertainty, the 29-year-old is also out of contract at the end of the season.

The Telegraph in the UK reports that Dier held a “frank conversation” with Levy about the situation.
However, Postecoglou could soon introduce Dier into the line up given Tottenham sold Davinson Sanchez to Galatasaray.
The Colombian was seen as the first choice back-up at centre-back, but with his move to Turkey, Dier’s hopes of playing increase.
Sanchez hasn’t started any of Tottenham’s opening four Premier League games under Postecoglou, who had said he wanted to trim a bloated squad.
Tottenham did not disclose the transfer fee for Sanchez, who had been with the London club for six years and made 207 appearances after joining from Ajax.
Tanguy Ndombele, meantime, joins Galatasaray on loan for the remainder of the season, with the option to make the move permanent.
It is Ndombele’s third consecutive loan spell away from Spurs since he joined in 2019.
Dier has been with the club for nine years and has been a valued senior player.
However, he was overlooked for leadership roles by Postecoglou as the Aussie opted to hand the captaincy to Son Heung-Min and the co vice captaincy to star signing James Maddison and Christian Romero.
