The Roosters scored a coup by signing Storm superstar Brandon Smith earlier in the year – now they have also picked up his little brother.
Jayden Smith, a strongly built 19-year middle forward, has signed a two-year deal with the Roosters.
“He’s been in a strong school system in Queensland but is a bit raw like a lot of kids his age because he didn’t play much football during the first round of COVID,” Roosters recruitment manager Daniel Anderson told Wide World of Sports.

“A lot of recruitment guys like bloodlines – it’s also comfortable for the family and the parents to have brothers at the same club.
“So it will be interesting to see how he goes. He is bigger than Brandon and will play middle forward.
“We will start Jayden in the SG Ball Cup and see how he develops.
“He definitely looks a prospect.”

The Roosters spotted Smith playing for Norths Devils in the Mal Meninga Cup this year.
They beat several other clubs to gain his signature.
