As the pressure intensifies on Brad Fittler’s position as NSW Blues coach, Craig Bellamy’s name has been thrown up as a potential replacement.
Bellamy coached the Blues from 2008 to 2010 with limited success during the Maroons’ incredibly dynasty.
The Melbourne Storm boss finished with two wins and seven losses from his nine Origin games, and many believe he may have some unfinished business in the arena.
When asked if he had any interest in the role ahead of his side’s clash against Penrith, Bellamy was blunt.
“No, at the end of the day Freddy’s NSW coach and that’s how it is, that’s how it should be,” he said.
“Whether or not they want to do or whatever’s viable, at the end of the day Freddy’s NSW coach and that’s how it is.”
Bellamy was further asked if an adviser role interested him, and once again didn’t mince his words.
“No, I’m the coach of the Storm this year and next year and that’s all I’m concentrating on,” he added.
