Astonishing details inside the tempestuous marriage between the glamorous ‘hitman-plot’ equestrian and the estranged husband she allegedly wanted murdered for $2million can now be revealed by DailyMail.com.
Tatyana Remley dominated the relationship and subjected older wealthy spouse Mark to ‘acting like a scared puppy’ around her, according to a former business partner of the divorcing Southern Californian couple.
She was so desperate to be the center of attention at all times that she continually preened herself like a catwalk queen, added renowned Las Vegas-based equestrian showman Erik Martonovich.
‘Tatyana ran everything. Whatever she said went. And he just followed her around. Mark was like a sniveling scared puppy,’ said Martonovich, 44. ‘And I never saw Mark say no to her.’

Martonovich is pictured with Tatyana and Mark. He said Tatyana was ‘constantly hitting on me – I brushed it off’. ‘Apparently, Mark and Tatyana wanted me to come down to San Diego and sleep with her while he watched. It was crazy,’ he added
‘She was very, look how pretty I am. The persona she wanted to portray to the world was that she’s like some gorgeous Russian supermodel. And maybe supermodel with a touch of Barbie,’ Martonovich said.
‘I don’t think she’s actually Russian, and she’s not a supermodel. But I’m pretty sure what she’s good at is being a gold digger.’
Martonovich also revealed Tatyana was ‘constantly hitting on me – I brushed it off’.
And years after he ended his business relationship with the couple, he discovered the couple allegedly hatched a plan to entice him to sleep with Tatyana while Mark watched. ‘I was stunned, and would never have been interested,’ he said.
Martonovich became associated with the warring couple after they approached him to produce their disastrous multi-million dollar ‘equine-human acrobatics show’ in 2012
Martonovich spoke out as Tatyana, 42, remains in jail in San Diego after being arrested following a police sting at a Starbucks on August 2, where she met a detective posing as a hitman for her ‘plot’ to kill Mark, 57.
She is accused of asking a friend to arrange a hit for $2million amid a bitter divorce battle in which she told a court she used to spend $50,000 a month, but her wealthy estranged husband had cut her off financially.
The couple lived a life of conspicuous luxury at their $5.3million hillside retreat in Del Mar just north of San Diego – but had a volatile 11-year marriage according to divorce papers Tatyana filed in July.
She claims Mark held a gun to her head at their mansion and also accuses him of chasing her around the house with a knife. Additionally, she alleges her husband was present while she was sexually assaulted by one of his friends.
DailyMail.com revealed this week that Mark has now vanished after he was rushed to the hospital last month claiming he was having a seizure.
Martonovich became associated with the warring couple after they approached him to produce their ultimately disastrous multi-million dollar ‘equine-human acrobatics show’ called Valitar in 2012.
He had distanced himself from the project by the time it crashed spectacularly with just three performances out of a planned 45 at the prestigious Del Mar Fairgrounds – leaving a trail of furious creditors.
But the experience gave him a unique insight into the couple’s relationship and personalities.
‘Mark is very socially awkward. He’s just not good at talking with people,’ said Martonovich, who now runs the spectacular equine event Gladius The Show – billed as ‘Cirque due Soleil Meets Mad Max on Horses’.
‘Pretty much the only thing he has going for his personality is that he has money – so he used that to get people to talk to him.
‘He is also really bad at communicating with women. At least ones that he thinks are attractive. He always had this kind of shaky, weird look.
‘Tatyana is fake nice. She was nice to your face, but if you don’t do exactly what I want then f*** you.
‘I have heard her accusations of Mark holding a gun to her head. I don’t believe it for a second because I never saw him even say no to her, much less put up any kind of a fight.’

Martonovich revealed: ‘I know that she would attack him sometimes. And I think I walked in on that on one occasion at their house. It stopped as soon as they realized I was there.
‘I walked in, she was yelling about something and all of a sudden it all stopped and he had a mark on his face. There was no blood, it looked like she slapped him maybe.
‘I have a really, really hard time believing that he did anything like she was saying. I’m not trying to defend him and say he’s a great person because he’s a jacka**.
‘I could see if you backed him into a corner hard enough he might bite back but I can’t see him initiating something.’
Martonovich continued: ‘She was volatile. But well hidden. She came off as a happy Barbie model, whatever. But she had no empathy for anything, not even the horses.
‘Of course she’s innocent until proven guilty, but her current situation didn’t even surprise me a little bit.’
The equine show producer, who works with his wife Lisa from their ranch, said he originally had the name Valitar for his production but dropped it after his experience with the Remleys.
He said the couple had contacted him out of the blue about building a spectacular show similar to one called Cavalia, which he had worked on.
‘And I honestly just thought they were idiots because they were talking out of their a**s,’ he said. ‘Then two days later they showed up at my ranch in a limo, which was kind of goofy.
‘She did all the talking, he just followed her around not saying much. They kept trying to tell me they wanted to make a show like Cavalia but hotter. I didn’t know what they were babbling about.’
Eventually the showman and the couple agreed to go ahead after he said it would cost at least $10million to produce. Mark originally wanted to do if for half the money.
But that was just the beginning of a bizarre and erratic nightmare for Martonovich.
‘Tatyana began texting me up to 20 times a day, going over stuff. And he was coming up with higher numbers, eventually mentioning $11million.
‘I drove down to San Diego that evening to meet them in the morning. Sometime in the evening she stopped texting me, which was bizarre because never stopped texting prior to that.
‘In the morning I couldn’t get hold of anybody. I finally got hold of a secretary who said, well it’s not going to happen. Mark doesn’t have the money.
‘And then she called me and was yelling as she was complaining about Mark, yelling about the whole situation. I don’t remember the exact details.’

Disappointed, the promoter put it down to experience. But a month later Mark called him and said he had the $11million, saying again they should meet.
‘And then I don’t hear anything from them again. Two days later he calls and says, hey me and Tatyana split but I still want to do the show.
‘And I thought, she was going to be a pain in the a**, so if she was out of the picture it was way better for me.’
Again Martonovich moved forward, buying horses, flying in performers and devising the creative side of the show at a rented training facility in San Diego.
‘Then all of a sudden Mark says Tatyana’s back in the picture. And I thought, this is going to be a pain,’ he said.
‘All of a sudden she’s starting to sit in on the meetings, which she’s not supposed to be part of, and she is now coming down to the rehearsals and she wants to be in it.
‘They are starting to pull the, well it’s our money so we need to find a place for Tatyana. And then she wants to kick out some of the performers I have and put herself in their place.
‘I humored it for a second with the idea to watch her fail miserably, which would have been kind of funny. But it culminates in him deciding to fire me because I wouldn’t make her the star.
‘They opened and it played for two nights, three shows. It was an epic failure because they didn’t have enough time and they were making her the star which was a horrible idea.’
Before parting ways, Martonovich witnessed another example of Tatyana dominating her husband.
‘We had a cast party one night and she ended up with his belt around his neck leading him around and trying to get guys to give him lap dances. Him on a leash and making him do weird stuff he didn’t want to do,’ he said.
And three years after he walked away from the disaster, the show producer experienced more of the couple’s turbulent lifestyle.
‘I had nothing to do with them and suddenly Mark contacted me, saying he’d just like to hang out,’ he said. ‘I couldn’t work it out.
‘I thought maybe he wanted to make things right financially for all those who lost money. But he kept skirting around conversations so I stopped communicating.
‘Then I told a friend who knew them about this and he said, oh I know exactly what that’s about.
‘Apparently, Mark and Tatyana wanted me to come down to San Diego and sleep with her while he watched. It was crazy.’

Martonovich reflected: ‘The strange part of all this, is that Tatyana has finally got what she wanted. Everyone’s going to know who she is now.’
Ferrari-driving Mark eventually filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy for his company Equustria Development Inc, which he used for the Valitar show after owing millions – including $1million to the sound engineers alone.
Tatyana, who has her estranged husband’s name tattooed on her stomach, was arrested after admitting her plans to have him killed and his body disposed of to an undercover detective, San Diego Sheriff’s Department has said.
The accused wife brought a cash down payment for the hit and three guns to the Starbucks meeting near her home, it added. ‘She provided detailed information on how she wanted her husband killed and his body disposed,’ said a spokesperson.
The sheriff’s department has not revealed how it knew of the ‘plot’. But it has been reported Tatyana approached a friend of the couple about the alleged plan and police were later informed.
Tatyana is charged with solicitation of murder and two weapons charges; carrying and concealing firearms not registered in her name in a vehicle and carrying a loaded firearm in a public place not registered in her name.
She pleaded not guilty during her arraignment at superior court in Vista two days after her arrest. A bid to be released on $50,000 bail was rejected by the judge and she remains in Las Colinas detention center.
