The Block quitters Elle Ferguson and Joel Patfull flee to Byron after buying $4million home

Fashion influencer Elle Ferguson and her AFL star fiancé Joel Patfull have snapped up a small estate in the Byron Bay hinterland for $4million.

The couple, who quit the upcoming season The Block just 48 hours into production, splashed out on an address in Ewingsdale, just 5km from the town of Byron Bay.

They bought the property, which comprises two small homes, in partnership with Elle’s sister Lucie Ferguson, reports The Daily Telegraph.

The two homes are both modern and minimalist in style, with the main house featuring three bedrooms and polished concrete floors.

The homes sit on a large block of land with a driveway leading through the middle.

It comes after the Bondi-based pair dramatically quit The Block earlier this year.

Elle, 36, and Joel, 37, downed tools in April – just 48 hours into production – after his mother suffered a nasty fall at home in Adelaide.

Scott unleashed during an interview with TV Tonight on the Logies red carpet last month: ‘We had a 48-hour challenge to choose the house that you get and they scarpered after 48 hours.

‘It’s something that’s never happened before.

‘Forty-five thousand people applied to be on The Block and win life-changing money. These guys got on and they just couldn’t handle the pace after 48 hours.

‘Which to me is a bit unAustralian! Have a go! It’s p**s poor.’

The 18th season of The Block will see Scott for the first time build his own house to inspire the couples, and to create a space for them to come together.

‘When I arrived on site for the first time, I thought to myself we had done a lot of big Blocks in the past but nothing like this – it’s massive,’ Scott said in a statement.

‘We are building our own little town, and at times that’s daunting. But we have a terrific bunch of contestants who give it a red-hot crack.’

Alongside judges Shaynna Blaze, Neale Whitaker and Darren Palmer, foremen duo Keith Schleiger and Dan Reilly will also make their return.

At stake is $100,000 for the winner of The Block, plus whatever profit the couples’ homes can make on auction day.

The Block: Tree Change premieres soon on Channel Nine and 9Now.
