Rugby fans were less than impressed with a unique rendition of the National Anthem during Wednesday’s State of Origin.
Advance Australia Fair was performed by musical theatre star Matilda Moran, but some viewers felt that the arrangement was a misfire.
‘That rendition of the Australian anthem sounded like the Teletubbies remix,’ complained one viewer.

Another compared it to a ‘TikTok dance’, while one tweeted: ‘Was that anthem sung to the tune of a Casio keyboard?’
‘Incredible Casio Keyboard backing music and solid drum beat for our national anthem,’ another viewer wrote sarcastically.
‘Backing track for the anthem was created on a Casio keyboard by a year 8 music student,’ sniped another.
