Mindy Woods was eliminated from Channel 10’s MasterChef on Tuesday night after botching a chocolate cake during on of the show’s infamous pressure tests.
The 40-year-old was sent home after the chefs were set a challenge by famed Australian chocolatier and pastry chef, Kirsten Tibballs.
They were given three hours and 15 minutes to recreate a spectacular ‘Cherry on Top’ dessert by Kirsten, which features multiple layers and a black chocolate spray.

Describing herself as ‘no dessert queen,’ Mindy went into the challenge with confidence.
‘I just said, if this is going to be our last cook let’s give it our all…There was definitely no fear involved,’ she told 10play.
Mindy said every time the show set a challenge it gave her a surge of excitement.
‘To have Kirsten walk in I knew that it was going to be something I had never done before… and probably will never do again,’ she said.

Kirsten’s verdict on Mindy’s dessert was that the Pain de Gênes was too thick, and the gel firm and grainy.
Meanwhile, the balance of flavours was not quite right, prompting the judges to send her home.
Mindy, whose upbeat energy throughout the Fans and Favourites season made her a fan favourite, took the defeat in her stride.

The former physiotherapist, who came fourth in the 4th season of MasterChef, said she was proud to end her time on the show with finalists Billie McKay and Julie Goodwn.
‘I should be sad but I feel so full in my heart,’ she said.
‘I cooked off against two MasterChef winners and to go out against those ladies I couldn’t be happier.’
