Cody Simpson reveals he is launching eco-fashion brand Prince Neptune

Cody Simpson is launching his own clothing range with fashion agency Slyletica.

The singer-songwriter, 25, will release the first collection from his new eco-fashion brand Prince Neptune: The Label in August.

Longtime fans of the musician-turned-competitive swimmer will know ‘Prince Neptune’ is the pseudonym Cody uses for his poetry.

Cody also modelled several items from his clothing range, which features ‘luxurious, unisex loungewear essentials’.

‘I was looking for really comfortable sweats and t-shirts that were sustainably made and I realised just how hard it is to find,’ he said.

He continued: ‘It was really important for me to stay true to my vision from both a design perspective and what I stand for.’

‘We took our time thinking about things like water conservation, using fewer chemicals, compostable packaging and incorporating recycled materials, and did so without compromising comfort and style. This is important to me and hopefully, to you as well.’

The range of loungewear is designed using eco-blend fabrics including the use of organic cotton and recycled polyester.

It comes after Cody recently spoke about shifting gears in his career by swapping music for competitive swimming.

He said last month the shift from touring the world and partying with A-listers to training every morning in the pool took some adjustment.

‘The lifestyle change for me has been polarising. It’s been a drastic change from where I came from to what I’m doing now,’ he told The Project.

‘But I did grow up in the sport and grew up with a swimming family. And parents are both were competitive swimmers. So I was sort of born into it and did it for years growing up,’ he went on.

‘And then when I went to the States and had the last 10 years in music doing, having the crazy sort of life. I really enjoy it and it’s kind of a nice change for me based on where I came from.’

Cody said he was ‘worried about the reception’ he would get from other swimmers but had been welcomed with open arms by the sporting community.

'We took our time thinking about things like water conservation, using fewer chemicals, compostable packaging and incorporating recycled materials, and did so without compromising comfort and style. This is important to me and hopefully, to you as well,' Cody said
