Celebrity Apprentice Australia finale delivers mediocre results for Channel Nine

The finale of Celebrity Apprentice Australia delivered a mediocre result for Channel Nine in Tuesday night’s ratings battle.

Only 594,000 fans in the metro centres tuned in to see former NRL great Benji Marshall announced the winner, beating out television presenter Darren McMullen for the prize: $100,000 for his chosen charity.

TV Tonight reports 459,000 fans watched the finale, with the episode scoring an average of 527,000 viewers.

The reality show featuring billionaire CEO Lord Alan Sugar has had a disappointing season overall for Nine after its first episode last season scored 812,000 viewers.

Over on Channel 10, MasterChef Australia delivered some good news for the embattled network.

The cooking franchise pulled in a solid result on Tuesday night reaching 583,000 fans in the major metro centres.

Meanwhile, the series came first place in all three key demographic groups coveted by advertisers covering 16 to 54-year-olds.

Comedy panel show The Cheap Seats performed well for Channel 10, drawing 429,000 viewers.

Over on Channel Seven, things were not looking nearly as good.

Home and Away continues its patchy 2022 season, pulling in just 429,000 fans in the metro ratings.

Big Brother Australia drew just 313,000 fans, which is a big drop from only two weeks ago.

SBS – which drew only 7.4 per cent of Tuesday night’s TV audience – had something to celebrate with the debut of the new season of genealogy series, Who Do You Think you Are?

The show where stars explore their ancestry reached an impressive 370,000 viewers in the major centres.

Channel Nine won the night overall on 26.8 per cent of the audience share, while Channel Seven in second place was not far behind on 25.8 per cent.

Coming in a close third was Channel 10, who managed to capture 21.3 per cent of Tuesday night’s audience overall.

The ABC finished in fourth position with 15.2 per cent.
