Logie Awards 2022 hangover: Stars look worse for wear after a big night out

There were some sore heads on the Gold Coast on Monday.

As the curtain closed on the 2022 TV Week Logie Awards, some of Australia’s biggest names emerged from The Star casino in the early hours of the morning looking a little worse for wear.

The tipsy stars had plenty to celebrate, of course, as television’s night of nights finally returned to the live stage after a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19.

As the sun began to rise, SAS Australia stars Anna Heinrich and Simone Holtznagel were seen waiting for an Uber outside the venue next to a security guard.

At one stage, a tired-looking Anna leaned on the shoulder of ex-AFL star Barry Hall.

Meanwhile, The Block favourites Mitch Edwards and Mark McKie looked very giddy indeed as they spotted paparazzi waiting by the entrance.

A cheerful Angela Bishop was also seen leaving the entertainment complex with her arms wide open to hug a friend.

Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou, who suffered a wardrobe malfunction on stage, was spotted with her partner Adam Rigby and TV presenter Renee Bargh.

MasterChef judge and Gold Logie nominee Melissa Leong seemed to have a clear head as she made a low-key exit with her boyfriend Rob Mason.

The Masked Singer judge Dave Hughes, who does not drink, sported a cheeky grin as he headed home after a long night of Carlton Zeros.

Gold Logie winner Hamish Blake was the man of the hour as the celebrities waited for taxis back to their respective hotels.

He hammed it up for snappers alongside his beauty mogul wife Zoe Foster Blake.

The couple was also seen mingling with his best mate Andy Lee and his long-term girlfriend Rebecca Harding.

In a surprising twist, the man everyone expected to be drunk the morning after the Logies was in fact sober as a judge.

Karl Stefanovic was perfectly clear-headed as he hosted Channel Nine’s Today show live from the Gold Coast from 5:30am alongside co-anchor Allison Langdon.

The 47-year-old, who missed out on winning the Gold Logie the night before, had memorably been drunk on air the day after the 2009 Logies.

He had referenced his partying ways during the ceremony by holding a packet of Panadol while on camera.
