Stormzy has opened up about his admiration for Adele, saying he was so starstuck when she came to his show, he hugged her four times.
The rapper, 29, appears in Saturday night’s The Jonathan Ross Show where he spoke about being a ‘big fan’ of the singer, 34.
Discussing his friendship with hitmaker, he added: ‘I’ve always been a big fan. She came to my London show and I was very, very starstruck. Extremely starstruck.
Stormzy has opened up about his admiration for Adele, saying he was so starstuck when she came to his show, he hugged her four times.
‘I remember I was like, “Can I hug you? Oh, can I hug you again?” I probably asked about three/ four times. She’s lovely.’
Speaking about his recent trip to see Adele perform at her residency in Vegas, Stormzy said: ‘That was amazing. Honestly, probably the best show I’ve ever seen. And I’ve seen a lot of shows.
‘In terms of the intimacy of it. It was very like… you’re in there but it’s like a small theatre but it’s f***ing Adele.
‘It’s got all the glitz and glamour like a massive arena show, but it’s in a small place and it’s kind of like, wonderful. Beautiful and spectacular and glamorous… I was like, chefs kiss.’

Jonathan asked if he’d ever like to duet with Adele, making Stormzy laugh as he replied: ‘Come on man, know what I mean.
‘I wish, I wish… you’ve got to… there’s leagues and levels Jonathan. Are you f***ing joking.’
Fellow guest and comedian Roisin Conaty joked: ‘I went for my 30th birthday and was really broke. It was a really depressing birthday.
‘Being broke in Vegas is like being broke ‘squared’. What I could afford was the bingo of Vegas.’

‘We spoke for like an hour, she was lovely, had advice, you know when you’re just kind of like, ‘Ah, you’re just amazing.’ I’m a fan though.’
Roisin added: ‘I’m not charming like Stormzy. I come across quite creepy. I met Brandon Flowers from The Killers. I’m a big fan. I was so earnest.
‘He said, ‘”Do you want a photo?” That’s celeb talk for, “Let’s end this.” I was too creepy.’

Stormzy shyly admitted: ‘Yeah I was super awkward when I met you.’
Adele replied: ‘I thought you were pretty chilled. Look at us now!’

She went on: ‘We’re super close, actually me and Stormzy. I won’t go into detail because we’re both very private people.
‘But we had a real moment with the ocean, God and all sorts last summer. Truly we felt a presence around us and we both were like “Let’s go get life.”‘

She said: ‘I love how open he’s been about his mental health the entire time and I don’t think many people were doing that when he first came out.’

Stormzy has even joined Adele on a holiday with her friends in 2020.
‘He hadn’t been on holiday!’ Adele explained. ’And I was like: ”I’m gonna get you out of here. We need to get you away, you need to chill out.”
‘Considering how much younger he is, he’s so open and keen to learn and be told things about life. I’m not even talking about music. I really, really love him. I really have a lot of time for him, very much.’
She added: ‘His mum’s done a f***ing wonderful job with him.’
