Karim Adeyemi scored a first half hat-trick before leaving the field injured in the ultimate football rollercoaster on Wednesday (AEST).
The Germany star sparked Borussia Dortmund’s 7-1 Champions League rout of hapless Celtic with goals in the 11th, 29th and 42nd minutes.
The 22-year-old leapt up on the advertising hoardings in joyous celebrations as he became the first German player to score 10 Champions League goals before the age of 23.

But Adeyemi would soon have his head in his hands as he limped off the pitch early in the second half with what appeared to be a hamstring injury.
“It was a quite extraordinary game because Celtic equalised (in the ninth minute),” Adam Peacock said on Stan Sport.
“And then within a minute it was 2-1 and then it just started going up. It was like a cash register when you’re at Woolies and you’re seeing ‘oh, wow, I’m paying that much’.”

Celtic had hammered Slovan Bratislava in their opening Champions League group game in September.
“I said last time that fans back here in Australia, if you’re a boss of a Celtic fan, they’re going to have the day off because they’re so happy,” Peacock said.
“The same fans today, I dare say that they just will not feel like going out of the house after this.”
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers insisted he would not change his European approach after the humbling.
The defeat is the third seven goal loss the Celtic manager has endured in the competition after heavy losses to Barcelona and Paris St-Germain.
No other coach has suffered more than one.

“Will we camp in and just wait? No, we won’t do that. We know it’ll be difficult at times,” Rodgers said.
“Tonight, we just gave it away too easy and we got punished.”
Elsewhere, Robert Lewandowski got Barcelona off the mark as the Spanish giant eased to a 5-0 home win over Swiss team Young Boys, while his former teammate Ilkay Gundogan got Manchester City off to a 4-0 win at Bratislava.
Erling Haaland scored his 42nd goal in his 41st Champions League game.
City was held 0-0 by Inter Milan in their opening game, while Barca responded to its 2-1 loss at Monaco, the team’s first defeat under new coach Hansi Flick.
Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal outclassed his former team Paris Saint-Germain in a 2-0 win with Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka scoring in the first half for the Gunners.
PSG coach Luis Enrique’s gamble on leaving Ousmane Dembele out did not pay off.

There was another big win with Inter Milan defeating Red Star Belgrade 4-0.

Also, Bayer Leverkusen defeated AC Milan 1-0 in Germany thanks a well worked move finished by Victor Boniface.
Daniel Bragança scored late to earn Sporting Lisbon a 1-1 draw at PSV Eindhoven.
Brest routed Salzburg 4-0 away for its second win in as many games.
Senegal forward Abdallah Sima netted twice to take his tally to three goals in two games after he scored in Brest’s tournament-opening 2-1 win over Austrian champion Sturm Graz.
Kaan Kairinen’s brilliant free kick was enough for Prague to draw 1-1 at Stuttgart in the other early game.
Stuttgart fans displayed a huge choreography saying “Back in Europe” behind one of the goals.
It was the team’s first Champions League match at home since a 1-1 draw with Barcelona in 2010.
