It might be more illuminating if you feature three families for whom a day not spending anything is not a challenge (‘I must have saved at least £100!’, 2 July), but a necessity. There are plenty of them to choose from after 14 years of Tory austerity. Or get your three writers to exist for a week on items from their local food bank.
