Queensland might have been floored by a NSW onslaught in the men’s clash on Wednesday night and the women are ready to right those wrongs.

“They didn’t get the win last night, but we want to go and rectify for Queensland and that’s our intent,” assistant coach Nathan Cross said on Thursday morning.

With a bumper crowd expected for the first game three in women’s Origin history, Cross opened up on the immense support coming from the Queensland faithful.

“I’ve never experienced so much intent or well-wishes for a team in the female space … it has come so quickly,” he said.

“There’s a real groundswell of support for us and we’re feeling that and it’s making our job more important and giving the girls a real spring in their step.

“I heard a couple of days ago that people were trying to get tickets but it was sold out and now they’ve released another section. Tonight will be a great spectacle and everyone is looking forward to it … it will be loud and it will be in our favour.

“We’ve got to go and repay the faith.”
