A young woman has mysteriously died in Bali leaving her family and friends to bring her body home to Australia.

Olyvia Cowley, 24, who lived on the Gold Coast in Queensland, died while on a trip to Bali on August 19.

Tributes have since flooded in for the Palm Beach Currumbin High School graduate, with her heartbroken mother calling her daughter ‘my world’.

It is not yet known what happened to the young holidaymaker, other than that her death is ‘unexpected’.

She had been sharing pictures of her luxury Bali getaway online in the weeks before her death.

‘My twinkle. My baby. My angel. I’ll miss you forever. What a smile, you are someone who lights up the world. It’s hard for me to fathom on days – Jesus chose me my Olyvia Te’a, he chose me’ to be your Mum!,’ her devastated mother wrote.

‘You’ll never be loved more. My love for you my dove is beyond anything you’ll ever understand. I need to see your calls and messages again. I can’t imagine life without you.’

One of Olyvia’s mother’s closest friends Tanya Pohio revealed her parents had travelled from Japan to Bali to bring her home to Australia.

In a post to Facebook, Ms Pohio wrote: ‘It is with such a broken heart that I share this. Olyvia – light and love gone too soon. She is the beautiful daughter of one of my best friends Christina. Made so much more tragic in that she passed away in Bali.

Ms Pohio asked for the public’s help saying in paying to bring her body home.

Olyvia’s close friend, Shae Barr, has set up a GoFundMe to help pay for the expenses of her friend’s passing.

‘To ease the financial pressure on the family moving forward I am asking for any donations if you are in a position to give,’ the GoFundMe page read.

‘We all know how much of an impact it can make when a community come together and the Cowley family are extremely grateful for the overwhelming love and support already. Let’s help this amazing family get through these next phases.’
