Alex Volkanovski will need to overcome a damning trend if he’s to beat undefeated No. 1 contender IIia Topuria.
Volk would become just the third fighter aged 35 or older in 33 attempts to have won a UFC title fight between flyweight and welterweight divisions.
The Aussie had fun with the stat in the weigh-in, dressing as a pensioner.
“Just having a bit of fun with it, you know what I mean?” he said.
“You’ve got to do it. And for the people as well! Everyone appreciated the outfit so I wanted to do it in person.
“I think this old man needs to teach this young fella a lesson, what do you reckon?”
Depending on earlier results, Volkanovski and Topuria will enter the ring about 4pm (AEDT).
