Elton John and ABBA‘s Benny Andersson have teamed up to recreate a live rendition of a viral mashup of thier songs.

A TikTok audio blending Elton’s 1974 hit Bennie And The Jets with ABBA’s 1979 track Chiquitita recently went viral on the platform.

Elton, 75, and Bennie, also 75, quickly jumped on the chance to recreate their own version of the mashup, which was shared on both of their accounts.

The clip begins with Bennie playing the opening sequence of Chiquitita on a grand piano in a recording studio.

The camera then switches to Elton as he plays the opening of Bennie and the Jets while smiling at the camera.

On ABBA’s TikTok, the video was captioned: ‘Heard that Chiquitita was trending again…with @EltonJohn!’

Meanwhile, Elton wrote: ‘Heard about this little mashup of Bennie and the Jets with @ABBA and had to get involved’.

The new TikTok clip isn’t the only collaboration Elton has been working on lately as the singer has reportedly been working in the studio with Britney Spears.

According to Page Six, Britney has recorded a new duet version of Elton’s immortal tune Tiny Dancer.

Britney joined up with the English singer in Beverly Hills last month to record the track, which first appeared on his 1971 album Madman Across The Water.

Fans won’t have to wait long to hear Britney on record again, as sources told the publication that the new version of Tiny Dancer is expected to be released in August by Universal music.

Elton appears to be the one who came up with the idea of the collaboration, but it seems to be an ideal soft launch for Britney to reinvigorate her musical career after staying silent in the final years of her now-defunct conservatorship.

‘This was Elton’s idea, and Britney is a huge fan. They have recorded a remix of Tiny Dancer as a full duet — and it is incredible,’ a music industry insider told the outlet.

‘Britney was in the studio in Beverly Hills last week with Elton for the super-secret recording session overseen by uber-producer Andrew Watt.’

According to the source, Britney and Elton’s new single is already a hit with record company executives.

‘They’ve already played it for people at their record label, and everybody is freaking out. It is so good,’ they gushed. ‘They are saying this is going to be the song of the summer.
