Alongside the new Android logo and identity, Google has also shared a handful of new features that the Android ecosystem offers to help users maximise on productivity and stay connected without much effort. Here’s a list and we will also tell you how to use them more efficiently.

AI-powered Glance widget
Android update includes the Assistant At a Glance widget which is an AI-powered tool to deliver timely and relevant information right at the home screen without any manual input or added effort. The widget offers precise weather alerts, dynamic travel updates, and upcoming event reminders.

Steps to use it: Long press on the home screen and select Widgets. Scroll down the list and tap on Google. Here, long press on the Assistant At a Glance widget and drag it to the home screen.

Lookout Image Q&A
Recognising visual content for visually impaired people can be challenging and while Android already offer tons of accessibility feature, one feature that can help them better is Q&A on Lookout. This feature uses AI to create detailed descriptions of images and users can interact with it by typing or using voice commands.

Steps to use it: Download and install the Lookout – Assisted Vision app from Play Store. Once downloaded, set it up properly and then enable the Image Q&A feature. Once done, tap on the microphone icon at the bottom and then ask it to describe the image on the screen right now.

Routines
Routines are another aspect of the Android operating system. Users can create several types of routines with Google Assistant to stay up to date about the world as well as themselves.

To create a new Routine, head to Google Assistant settings and then tap on Routines. You’ll see some suggested routines there as a carousel. Or, you can also choose to create a new routine by tapping on the New button at the top right corner.
