AFL news 2023, KISS band confirmed to play grand final day entertainment

The AFL has announced iconic American rock band KISS will be the headline act on grand final day.

KISS will perform before the grand final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Saturday, September 30.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be to be performing in front of 100,000 footy fans at the biggest and best sporting event in the country,” KISS said in an AFL statement.

“Be ready to ROCK as we’ll be coming full throttle into the ‘G. See you for that One Day in September!”

The hall of fame band has released 44 albums across 40 years and has sold more than 100 million albums.

They follow in the footsteps of the likes of Robbie Williams and The Killers in headlining AFL’s big day.

They are touring Australia currently as part of their “End of the World” tour.

“Their reputation speaks for itself, they are responsible for some of the best live shows in music history and we know Gene, Paul, Eric and Tommy will absolutely rock the MCG pre-game,” AFL’s commercial and customer manager Kylie Rogers said.
